Diet Chef – Week 2

Another week, another weight loss! Yay!

For the last two weeks I’ve been eating Diet Chef prepared meals for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. If you saw my post last week, you will have seen a run down of every meal I ate and lots of photos too. This week I ate lots of the same foods so won’t do a complete list again, but here are a few new foods from this week:

I really do love the creamy pasta pesto pots. They’re my favourite lunch and I like to change it up each time by adding different veg. Continue reading

As you may have seen in my previous post, I was very happy when my hamper arrived! It was crammed full of yummy meals that would last me 28 days. I couldn’t wait to start!

My first vlog! The no mirror make up challenge…

Wow, am I nervous about this! I hate my voice but since this was such a worthy cause I thought I’d give it a go. My lovely friend Jessica from Lilypod and Sweetpea gave me the idea after I saw her attempt at this. I’m very sorry for the impossibly poor lighting, but since it’s my first vlog you can let me off. I’ll be sure to sort that out in future!

OK here goes!!

Marta from Titot is in the process of updating her site to make English shipping available very, very soon so keep checking if you wish to make an order via the website. In the meantime here is Titot’s Etsy page where shipping to the UK is ready to go and works perfectly. We are SO thrilled to have been chosen and cannot wait for our first package of clothing to arrive. Austin is excited to wear and show off Tito fashion – stay tuned for his first outfit!

Diet Chef – My hamper has arrived!

Eeeek it’s here! As you may remember I recently mentioned that I will be working with Diet Chef to review their diet plan by doing a trial of it myself for 4 weeks. Yesterday my hamper arrived and it all looks so yummy! The portion sizes are actually quite a bit large than I expected for a diet, which I’m really pleased with as there’s nothing worse than feeling starving whilst trying to lose weight. The packaging is really enticing too, great colours!

I really love the fact that Diet Chef hampers arrive in an unbranded box. A very clever bit of non-marketing there I think. I wouldn’t care less if my neighbours saw a diet box arriving at my house, but then again I’m friendly with my neighbours and am also quite a confident person, so it wouldn’t bother me. However, that’s probably not the case for most dieters. Most people want to lose weight as they might not feel great, might not like the way they look or might have low self esteem due to weight gain, so having your neighbours nose at the fact you’re trying to lose weight could add extra pressure and embarrassment. Fab move to have the box unbranded, so even the courier doesn’t know what he’s delivering. Here it is just opened – have a peek!

When I opened the box fully layer by layer it seemed never ending! If you’re thinking of trying Diet Chef, I’d definitely make some room in your kitchen as it can take over once fully unpacked!

You can’t expect anything else though when you’re ordering an entire month’s worth of food to come at once. I was a bit worried about where on earth I was going to store it all once I saw how much there was, but I soon found two worktop baskets and a small shelf. Breakfast and snacks in baskets, then Lunch and dinners on the shelf. Yep, no fridge! All food can be stored at room temperature in a cool dry place, so shelves/cupboards/pantries are all perfect. Here’s a look at my storage solution

I chose every single item myself from the huge food range online and will be enjoying meals such as porridge, cookies, crisps, soups, pasta pots, milkshakes, sausage and mash, casseroles, carbonara, paella, shepherds pie, lasagne, curry, popcorn, pretzels, Chinese…… the list goes on, and on!

Stay tuned to find out my starting weight, progress and meal photos. I can’t wait to start later this week. Bring it on Diet Chef!

Tommy and Lottie baby t-shirt review

Yet more clothing for Austin to wear – what a lucky boy! This time it is the turn of a lovely English clothing brand called Tommy and Lottie. We were asked to have a look at their website and choose a t-shirt, but it was SO hard to pick just one! The designs are simple but definitely stand out. They are modern British images with a nostalgic twist and are just adorable!

So far the company are running a line of fairground and woodland designs. The Fairground style comes in short sleeve and the woodland in both short and long sleeve. To give you an idea of their look, here is an example of a short sleeve fairground t shirt which can be found on the website. Isn’t it lovely?

For Austin however, I decided to go for the longsleeved woodland hedgehog. It arrived 24 hours later and is just gorgeous – so unbelievably soft and lovely.

Babies-Hedgehog-T-Shirt-Long-Sleeve-220x220The ethically and sustainably sourced 100% cotton fabric is so soft to touch so it must be a dream to wear! I love the acorn detail on the back too and Austin certainly looks comfy in it!

For me, the fact that they are ethically sourced is a huge bonus. I know that the cotton being used it is grown, produced and manufactured in one place and not all over the world. There are no harmful dyes used and I’m glad to say that Tommy and Lottie also employ people from local communites, treating and paying them fairly.

Due to the way the clothing is made and the quality of the product, this places Tommy and Lottie in the high end market for children’s clothing. Short sleeve t-shirts are £17 and long sleeve £20. I think that given how they are made and how soft and luxurious they feel and look makes the price totally justified. They are generous in size, meaning they will last too. I also think that because the designs and colours are beautifully simple, the t -shirts can be teamed up to be part of almost any outfit which again means they are worth the money.

Austin just loves his cosy Autumn t-shirt! Thank you Tommy and Lottie!!

I’ve teamed up with Diet Chef!

I’m very excited to be able to tell you all that I will be working with Diet Chef in order to shift the last of my mum tum! I am going on holiday in 3 days and am back next weekend. This holiday will be my last blow out food-wise and whilst I’m sure I’ll enjoy it, I can’t wait to get back for some healthy, sensible eating.

Diet Chef is a calorie controlled diet, but there’s no counting and weighing, it’s REAL food prepared for me and delivered straight to my door. Perfect!

As a new mum I’m desperate to shift the weight in the easiest way possible. When Diet Chef asked me to do a 4 week trial I jumped at the chance. After seeing their menu and vast choices I knew this would be the right diet for me. I can’t wait to get my hamper!

I’ll be blogging every week about my weight loss and the meals I’ll be trying out. I’m looking forward to getting back in shape and filling you in on my progress!

Have you tried Diet Chef before? Any tips for shifting mum tum?!
